Dr. David Samadi-Leader in Urology

Dr. David Samadi has held two positions at Lenox Hill Hospital since June 2013: Chairman of Urology and Chief of Robotic Surgery. Also, Samadi is an urology professor at Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. He holds board certification in urologic oncology. Dr. Samadi performs open and laparoscopic surgery to treat prostate cancer. He also treats kidney cancer, bladder cancer, and urological diseases. The SMART (Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique) surgical technique has been developed by Samadi. More than 7,000 surgeries performed with this method have had no major complications. He has affiliations with the American Urological Association and American Medical Association. Various magazine publishers have featured and interviewed Dr. David Samadi. Samadi is a regular contributor to the FOX News Medical-A-Team. The American Cancer Society gave him a Community Partner Award in 2012. From 2008 to 2012, Dr. Samedi has been one of America’s Top Doctors.

Dr. Samadi got his B.S. in Biochemistry at Stony Brook University and M.D. at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Samadi completed two post-grad training programs: one at Montefiore Medical Center and the other at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His passion for urology began when he observed a surgeon move his hands around a small body part with surgical instruments. Samadi completed an oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2001. He finished his robotic prostatectomy fellowship at Henri Mondor Hospital in Creteil, France in 2002. During his fellowship at Henri Mondor, he was mentored by Professor Claude Abbou.

At Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, Samadi was director of laparoscopic surgery from July 2002 to May 2007. Dr. David Samadi became a faculty member at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2007 where he was Chief of Robotic Surgery and Vice Chair of Urology until 2013.

Samadi created a radio show on AM 970 NYC, World Health News in March 2015. Dr. David Samadi started a show named “Sunday Housecall with Dr. David Samadi” this September. This show broadcasts at 12:30 pm Eastern Time Sunday on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube live, and Dr.SamadiTV.com. Medicine and health experts hold presentations on topics such as men’s and women’s health, exercise, nutrition, common illnesses, prostate health, and sexual health. Audience members can either send an any questions they have about the presentations during or after the show so they could be answered. Health experts with published work are eligible to present in “Sunday Housecall with Dr. David Samadi”.
